Taste of the Town is the biggest food party of the year in Myrtle Beach, and it has been rescheduled to Nov. 5 due to the historic flooding in the Myrtle Beach area.
I don't remember Taste of the Town ever being rescheduled in its 32-year history.
TOT's event chair, Meg Shavitz, sent this message on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015:
"As you are aware, the historical rainfall and flooding across South Carolina the past few days have been catastrophic in some areas, as there are reports of road collapses, road/business/school closures, loss of homes and loss of lives across the state. Our prayers are being lifted for all people who have been affected by this devastation.
"Taste of the Town/St. Andrew Catholic School, and the City of Myrtle Beach have made a joint decision, based on the safety of our community, to RESCHEDULE the Taste of the Town 2015 event (originally planned fortomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 6th).
"Taste of the Town 2015 will NOT be held tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6th. Taste of the Town 2015 has been RESCHEDULED for THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2015.
